6 Things to do While Waiting for In Ruby Slippers to go Live

September 16th, 2010

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to In Ruby Slippers!  We’re still under construction, but plan to be fully live within a week or two.

Here are 6 things you can do while you wait for the big day:

1.  Sign up for our RSS feed. We have a ton of exciting posts planned for each day.  Trust me when I say you won’t want to miss one of them!  We’ll also have a giveaway each day for the first week, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

2.  Follow In Ruby Slippers on Twitter. Twitter is my favorite tool for sharing fast, relevant snippets of information like time-sensitive deals and coupons, freebies, Swagcodes, and links to articles and videos I love.  I’ll also tweet bits and pieces of life that are too small for a blog post but too sweet not to share.

3.  Go on a Great Explore. My children like to go on Great Explores in our backyard; after all, even the same old yard can take on new and thrilling significance when you’re wearing explorer gear, toting provisions (generally cookies and juice boxes), arming yourself with cap guns and makeshift swords, and looking at everything through the filter of “Imagine If.”  I’ll be the first to admit that there isn’t much to see here right now, but if you grab some provisions (I suggest a cup of coffee) and go on a Great Explore through all of these yet-to-be-filled categories, you’ll find all sorts of things to imagine.  A quick mouse-over of the categories will give you an idea of what this blog is all about!

4.  Check out our amazing coupon database. The link is at the top of every page.   If you need something from the store, check our database first – if there is a coupon anywhere for that item, it will show up in the database.  If it’s a printable coupon, there will be a convenient link for you to use, and if it’s a coupon from the paper or a magazine, the database will list where and when the coupon appeared.  Helping you save money is a big part of my mission at In Ruby Slippers, and I believe this database will bless your socks off!

5.  Come back here and chat. Once you’ve taken a look at some of the categories and ideas that I’ve built for this blog, come back and tell me what you think.  Is there a category that really caught your interest?  Is there something you were hoping to see but that I didn’t think of yet?  What do you want most from this blog?  What would encourage and edify you the most?  Leave a comment – I really do want to know!  I’ve got a full editorial calendar, but I’m not above bumping a scheduled post if it will meet your needs more effectively.

6. Spread the word. If you know other ladies that would be blessed by practical instruction and loving enc ouragement, why not take a moment to send them our way?  You are welcome to grab the blog button on the right and post it on your site, or you can share our link on facebook, twitter, etc.
